Makeup Technique: Tricks For Fuller Lips

If you’ve always wanted to learn all of the different makeup tips to make lips look bigger and sexier so you can have luscious lips like Angelina Jolie’s, you are not alone.
You can get plumper lips without some scary medical procedure or fancy new contraption. These genius tips will give you an Angelina Jolie pout with barely any effort.
Fuller Lips

Tricks For Fuller and Luscious Lips
You’ll need

A light nude makeup pencil (typically a multi-purpose pencil or a concealer pencil)
A nude/blush lip pencil just a hair darker than your natural lip color
A sheer lipstick or nude gloss

Pick up your light nude pencil and begin applying to just the center of your lips. Keep this color between your cupid’s bow; if you put your index finger right at the center of your lips, that’s about as much area as you want to cover.
Make sure you extend your light nude pencil to the edge of your cupid’s bow as well as the lowest part of your bottom lip. Be careful not to draw outside of your actual lip line.
Now pick up your darker lip pencil and just outline and fill in your lips at the outer corners, blending inward just slightly.
Using your finger, lightly blend out the edges of the lighter color to eliminate any harsh lines you may have created.
Finish your look off by applying a very sheer lipstick or a nude gloss. The more sheer, the better so that the highlight and contour come through!

Fitfam Dinner: Cauliflower Fritters With Tomato Sauce

Cauliflower – the vegetable of the moment. Isn’t that what this awesome cruciferous veggie is called? I honestly can’t agree more!
I’ve heard quite some people complain about the taste of this super veg. To me, it tastes more or less like cabbage (a co-member of the cruciferous family).  Fair enough I guess, considering its numerous nutritional values and health benefits. However, quite pleasurable is the fact that cauliflower can take on several flavors based on what you’re cooking it with. This gives that touch of flexibility; making it anything but boring.
Considered one of the healthiest foods in the world, Cauliflowers are impressively loaded with phytochemicals, minerals, vitamins and several other basic nutrients. Benefits to be enjoyed by making cauliflower a part of your food regimen includes: elimination of likely cancer stem cells in your body, healthy brain, improved memory, inflammation control, healthy digestive system, detoxification, strong bones, reduced risk of hypertension and of course, an overall immunity boost.

Usually used as a substitute for rice and potatoes in low-carb diets, cauliflower is a known salad ingredient. But beyond these uses, this super white vegetable can be used as well in other various forms of cooking – roasting, grilling or stir-frying. Smoothie Recipe For Healthy Weight Gain

For some reasons, people want to add some extra pounds. And sometimes when I think of the intense effort they put into this pursuit of weight gain while many others (like me) are trying so hard to shed it off, I get simply awed. A classic example of the saying – one man’s meat is another man’s poison, right?
Like weight loss, weight gain can be just as challenging and many times in a bid to achieve quick results, indulging in junk foods become normal. But junk foods are loaded with unhealthy (empty) calories. Foods high in unhealthy fats and huge sugar content are unwholesome and though you may gain the weight, consuming them consistently can be quite detrimental.
However, there are certain foods that are not only calorie-dense but exceptionally packed with nutrients too. The more of these wholesome calories you consume, the more weight you will put on. Thus eating calorie-rich foods in large quantities will give you the added pounds you seek in a most healthful way.
Having to eat so much may not be quite easy so instead of forcing yourself to eat, or binging on junks, smoothies are going easy. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that drinking is a lot easier than eating. With smoothies, you can increase your calorie and nutrient intake significantly without pushing yourself to overeat. When on a weight loss journey, smoothies work best as meal replacements. But in this journey of weight gain, smoothies will effectively boost your weight when also consumed to your meals or in between meals.
Smoothies are more healthful and nutritious than weight pills and supplements especially when loaded with fresh fruits, vegetables and high-calorie snacks like nuts, seeds, dried fruits and full-fat milk/yogurt. Dairy products and protein-rich foods are essential ingredients if looking to increase your muscle tone with the weight gain.

***Loaded with nutrients and healthy plant-based fats, full cream coconut milk (natural) in your smoothies will help add more bulk healthily. If not using coconut milk, whole milk or full-fat Greek yogurt are other great milk options.

The Many Wonders Of Beetroots

It’s all about super amazing Beetroot today – another superfood nature has blessed us with! Unfortunately, this bossy vegetable as it’s often referred to is known more for its juice’s overpowering purplish-red/pink hue than for the incredible numerous nutritional and health benefits in it.
Beets discovery dates as far back as the Middle Ages. Though this medieval vegetable was then cultivated by the ancient Greeks, only the leaves were eaten by them. Considering them highly medicinal, Hippocrates used beetroot leaves for binding and dressing wounds. However, in later years, the Romans began to eat the roots as a laxative and a cure for fever. Amongst other earliest known benefits of beetroot enjoyed by the Romans, was its use as an aphrodisiac. A high amount of boron – which is effective in the production of sex hormones – is contained in beetroot; another natural Viagra on your hands, right?
But that’s not all there is to Boron! Boron is a trace nutrient essential for the normal growth and functioning of your body. Boron works greatly in improving the natural ability of your body to absorb calcium and magnesium.  It’s necessary for the formation of specific steroid hormones, reduces menopausal symptoms and deals significantly with arthritis and osteoporosis.
Brimming with nitrates, Beetroots has proved to lower blood pressure, increase the production of red blood cells and improve the flow of blood within the body. These properties have earned it a high ranking on the list of heart friendly foods.
Wonders Of Beetroots

Beet leaves are particularly loaded with vitamins K and A. The leaves and juice are rich in antioxidants – Betanin and Polyphenols are known great purifier; effectively ridding your body of toxins. These antioxidants also work in reducing the oxidation of bad cholesterol, protect the artery walls and guard your heart against diseases. Oh! I shouldn’t forget to mention as well that Betanin is the same healing substance used in producing anti-depressants. This means a regular beet diet will sure rid you of any possibility of anxiety and depression. Awesome, don’t you think?
Love to the gym and keep fit? Then Beetroot shouldn’t be missing in your regular diet. Due to the high content of antioxidants, a drink of Beetroot juice just before hitting the gym is certain to boost your stamina and help enhance your exercise performance. Your muscle function is further preserved, and possible muscle soreness and inflammation due to exercise strain are acutely reduced.
Though Beetroot is sweet, it’s remarkably low in calories and if on a weight loss journey, it should be a part of your regular diet. As an outstanding source of Vitamin C, folate and fiber, immunity boost, normal tissue growth and smooth digestive functions are some of the many other benefits of Beetroot. Other nutritional contents in this super vegetable include – manganese, potassium, and iron.
Here’s one more use of Wonder Beets. Got flaked hair or dandruff? Simply boil some beetroots in water and massage into hair when cooled. Try it consistently, and you’re set to be wowed!

Why You May Not Be Getting Desired Results From Your Workouts

Are you unhappy with the results you are getting (or not getting)? Or you’re beginning to feel like all the hard work in the gym isn’t paying off? Then you may be making some classic exercise mistakes.
Below are the five key exercise mistakes women are making, even fit women.
Exercise Mistakes You May Be Making
Yes, you’ve been working out for a while now, but you may not be achieving desired results. The truth is you may not be doing the right thing.
You won’t desired results when; You don’t exercise with weightsWeight training is the best way to tone up, increase lean muscle tissue and control your weight. Resistance training helps to increase your metabolism, which in turn means that even on a day off from the gym you’ll still burn more calories!
Exercising with weights also aids in the reduction of the risk of developing the brittle bone disease, also known as osteoporosis. Weight training places stress on your bones which means that they have to adapt and become thicker and stronger, ideal conditions to reduce the onset of brittle bone disease. You’re scared of developing big musclesWeight training can build big muscles. However, the amount of weight you lift must be exceptional. Although you should constantly be aiming to lift heavier and heavier weights progressively (processing as soon as a particular weight feels easier to lift) women have rarely got the genetic structure and hormonal capabilities to build large muscles. If you lift weights, your muscles will develop tone, shape, and a sexy sleekness. You should aim to lift between 8 – 12 repetitions with any given weight. If it feels like you could do more the weight is too light.
You Do Very Easy Cardio Workouts
A lot of fitness magazines suggest that working at low exercise levels (approximately 60-70 percentage of your maximum level) is ideal for fat loss. This common mistake originated because at these low-moderate levels fat is the primary fuel used during exercise. However, weight loss and weight management are all about burning calories and not necessarily fat per se. At higher exercise levels (70-85 % max.) you will burn more calories (during the same exercise time), and you will have a better chance of reducing your waistline. You do sit ups to reduce your waistline. Sit ups and crunches can only help tone up the tummy and abdominal muscles. They will not, however, burn fat or for that matter even that many calories. The only way you can reduce the amount of fat held around the stomach is to exercise aerobically at least 2-3 times a week, for at least 20 minutes and no more than 60 minutes AND watch your diet and calorie intake. You eat too much foodIf your thought is that going to the gym gives you an excuse to pig out, you will never lose the weight you wish to. Exercising burns lots of calories, but many nice foods (chocolate, sweets, cakes, fast food, etc.) carry a bucket full of calories.

Dinning Etiquettes You Need To Know

Table manners are very important in both professional and social situations, so it’s a good idea to know some basics.
If you have never been taught dining etiquette or you’ve forgotten what you learned, here are some tips to show that you know how to behave at the table. Displaying proper etiquette at the table will also help you socially and professionally or in someone’s home.
The 10 Do’s!

Once seated, unfold your napkin and use it for wiping your lips or fingers. At the end of dinner, leave the napkin tidily on the place setting.
It is the right dinner table etiquette to serve the lady sitting to the right of the host first, then the other ladies in a clockwise direction, and lastly the gentlemen.
Hold your knife and fork with the handles in the palm of the hand, your forefinger on top, and thumb underneath.
While eating, you may if you wish rest the knife and fork on either side of the plate whenever your mouth is full. When you have finished eating, place them side by side in the center of the plate.
If you don’t like the food presented to you, it is polite to at least make some attempt to eat a small amount of it. Or just cut it up a little, and move it around the plate!
It is good to leave some food to one side of your plate if you feel as though you have eaten enough. On the other hand, do not leave your plate so clean that it looks as if you haven’t eaten in days!
You can eat your dessert with both a spoon and fork, or alternatively a fork alone if it is a cake or pastry style sweet.
When a lady wishes to be excused for the bathroom, it is polite for the gentlemen to stand up as she leaves the table, sit down again, and then stand once more when she returns.
Do not forget to thank the host and hostess for their hospitality before leaving.
It is good dinner table etiquette to send a personal thank you note to the host and hostess shortly afterwards.

The 10 Don’ts!

Never start eating up your food before a signal from the host to do so.
Forks should not be turned over unless being used for eating peas, sweetcorn kernels, rice or other similar foods. In which case, it should be transferred to the right hand. However, at a casual buffet or barbecue, it is quite acceptable to eat with just a fork.
Using one’s bread for dipping into soups or mopping up sauces is generally not regarded as a good dinner etiquette.
Loud eating noises such as slurping and burping are very impolite. This is the number one sin of dinner table etiquette.
Talking with one’s mouth full is unpleasant to watch, and could also lead to choking!
Do not stretch across the table crossing other guests to reach food, wine or condiments. Simply ask a guest sitting close to pass the item you need to you.
Good dinner table etiquette sometimes involves a degree of diplomacy when it comes to the host’s choice of food and wine! Even when you feel that you can do better, never offer your criticism. If you can’t pay any compliments, at least remain silent on the subject.
Picking teeth (unless toothpicks are provided) and licking fingers are very unattractive. The only exception to the latter is when eating meat or poultry on the bone (such as chicken legs or ribs). In which case, a finger bowl should be provided.
Drinking too much wine can be very embarrassing! Where a different wine is served with each course, it is quite acceptable to not finish each glass.
Make polite conversations with those guests around you. Dinner parties are not just about the food, they are intended to be a sociable occasion.

Simple Good Manners
Apart from the dinning etiquettes listed above, there simple good manners you should exhibit. These are:

Always respond to an invitation within a week of receiving it.
Dress according to the (if any) dress code. Do not try to “out dress” the hostess!
Be punctual – never more than 10 minutes late.
If you wish to bring a guest as your partner, make sure you check with the host first.
If you are the host of the party and a guest of yours arrives with an unexpected friend, be polite & courteous with them, and speak with your inconsiderate guest at another time.
It is considered polite to take along a cute small gift for your host and hostess. Flowers, chocolates or champagne are always appreciated.

DIY Snack recipe: Buns

It seems I am gradually becoming a foodie these days as all I think of is cooking and eating, I wonder why. Whatever the reason; I’ve decided I won’t be going down this road alone, I am going to ‘infect’ as many people as I can with the food syndrome. So, I am here again with a snack most Nigerians love, and I have noticed a hit with the kids as well.
Buns are fried dough balls with a crunchy outer texture, and they are quite similar to the puff puff but differ in texture. Let’s fry some buns.

Ingredients
450g all-purpose flour
100g sugar
1tsp. salt
2tbsp. baking powder
3 eggs
100g butter
1 cup Water (warm)
2tbsp. powdered milk
Vegetable oil
tsp. – teaspoon, Tbsp. – tablespoon
Procedure

Mix your dry ingredients (minus the sugar and the milk) in a bowl
Whisk your eggs and mix with the butter
Make a well in the middle of your dry ingredients and pour the mixture (egg and butter) into it. Mix till it looks lumpy.
Dissolve the sugar and the milk in the cup of warm water making sure the sugar
Make a well in the center of your mixture and pour the liquid into it while mixing. Mix till you get a stretchy dough. Set your dough aside for a few minutes.
Heat oil in a frying pan
Scoop tablespoons of dough into the hot oil; reduce the heat and fry the buns till it turns golden brown
Transfer the fried buns to a paper towel to drain the excess oil. Leave to cool.

Your delicious buns are ready.
The only issue I seem to have with the buns is storage; is it possible to store until the next day?  If you have any idea or solution to this, please leave it in the comment section, thanks.
